Hana in her Chorus uniform. She just loved
having to tuck in her shirt {not}. |
singing.......Hana's chorus performance finally happened. And when I say 'finally' I am referring to the 2 cancellations due to bad weather (snow & torrential rain). On the evening of her performance, bad weather was expected again but as they say, "the show must go on".

Just a side note: I have learned from Day 1 at these schools that YOU MUST ARRIVE EARLY if you even want a glimpse of your child. So we were there with plenty of time to spare, about 45 minutes early, and snagged front row seats. There were already people there so I am not neurotic. We got the front row seats only because they didn't know that they were not reserved. Lucky us.

surprising.......Evan earned the Quality Student Award. I received the notice about 3 weeks earlier but it is set up as a surprise for the students. When Evan came home with the letter addressed to us, he was told it was about volunteering. I love that it is a surprise, and the children who receive the award {2 students per class} do not find out until morning announcements of the special day. The students get to come down to the cafeteria and have a special breakfast with whoever came to celebrate with them.
This all actually happened last month but it is worth sharing, so better late than never. Both the kids have had great experiences at their schools and I know they'll keep that momentum going through the end of the school year. Go Mustangs and Go Sunrays!
