The sign says it all...because I'm sure there was a Saint involved in getting our feet over the finish line.
We did it! Steve and I completed our first marathon on St. Patrick's Day with the Rock 'n Roll USA Marathon. It was a challenging course that was lined with spectators and bands around every mile, taking us throughout D.C. We battled unexpected heat, blisters, and cramping, but most importantly we finished.
If you had asked me after the race if I would do it again, I would've easily said "no". But now that I have had time to think about it and that I know I could do better... I'm certain I have at least one more Marathon in my future.
