The outer bands of Hurricane Sandy rolled into our neighborhood on Sunday night, October 29th. We had watched the storm unfold on every weather channel possible so we had prepared the best we could. My experience from living in Florida for most my life, all came back to me.
Bad side of it- we experienced mighty strong winds, non stop rain, a power outage for about 20 hours, and no school for the kids for two days. Such minor inconveniences compared to the people who really got hit hard by Sandy. Good side of it all- played a couple of rounds of Taboo, read by the fire {still had gas working}, and had hot meals.
We survived Hurricane Sandy without any real incident and I am so grateful that Steve was home to keep us calm and safe. I know others were not so lucky and I HOPE they find relief here very soon.
